Keith Clupper, Director of Bands

Mr. Clupper is a native of Hendersonville, TN and graduated from White House High School.  He attended the University of Tennessee, Knoxville where he studied under the direction of Dr. WJ Julian and trombone professor Don Hough.  There he received a B.S. in Music Education in 1993 and Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction in 1997.  Mr. Clupper also earned an Ed.S. in Instructional Leadership from Tennessee Technological University.  His mentors include legendary Middle Tennessee music educators Bill McMinn and Brad Kinney.  

He has taught in schools in the East Tennessee area including Harriman High School, Lenoir City High School, Karns High School, Hardin Valley Academy and was named Director of Bands at Farragut High School in June, 2011. 

Mr. Clupper is a member of the East Tennessee School Band and Orchestra Association, the Tennessee Music Educators Association, Tennessee Bandmasters Association, National Association for Music Education, Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, and Phi Beta Mu.  

Mr. Clupper has had the pleasure of leading programs that have consistently received superior ratings on stage and on the field and he has been the recipient of the National Band Associations Citation of Excellence Award.  Recent ensembles have also been active participants at Bands of America Regional Championships, Winter Guard International Regionals and World Championships.  Mr. Clupper serves as Instrumental Music Professional Development Specialist for Knox County School District, East Tennessee Rep for Tennessee Bandmasters Association and past President of the East Tennessee Performing Arts Association.
   

Michelle Lewis Clupper, Assistant Director

Michelle Lewis Clupper, Assistant Director, is a native of Knoxville, TN, where she attended Halls High School. She attended the University of Tennessee, Knoxville where she received her Bachelors of Music in Education in 2000. Mrs. Clupper began her teaching career at West Valley Middle School where she taught for three years. During this time she assisted with the Farragut Marching Band in an after school capacity.

In 2003, Mrs. Clupper became an Assistant Director of Bands at Farragut High School. Her responsibilities include working with the Marching Band, co-conducting the FHS Wind Ensemble, conducting the FHS Orchestra and teaching AP Music Theory.

Mrs. Clupper is a member of the East Tennessee School Band and Orchestra Association, the Tennessee Music Educators Association, the National Music Education Association, the American String Teachers Association and the Tennessee Bandmasters Association. Mrs. Clupper has served as Secretary for the East Tennessee School Band and Orchestra Association for the years 2004-2008, is currently the Executive Secretary of the Tennessee Bandmasters Association and is the Tennessee Music Education Association State Orchestra Chair.
